PluginsAppsAboutMastfrog, LLC, is a company focused on producing quality software, primarily in the domain of digital audio.
Mastfrog’s DSP plugins have their DSP code written in Rust, a high-performance, memory-safe language that is ideal for digital signal processing code, and much more difficult to make mistakes with than the C programming language which is traditionally used for DSP.
Our audio plugins are currently Audio Unit v3 plugins for Mac OS. But one of the reasons for choosing a platform-independent language for all the code that does the heavy lifting is so we can port it easily. Future plans include iOS and VST versions of our plugins.
“Mastfrog” is a software-generated name - what better sort of name can there be for a software company?
The frog-spyglass logo was one of the last pieces of artwork created by Erik Schuessler, done gratis on a whim one day during a respite from chemotherapy. He was a fantastic artist, and is missed. The gift of the logo is deeply appreciated.
