Zen Widener

Zen Widener is a multi-band stereo image enhancer that works by subtracting center content from a stereo signal and choosing the center-point.

Each adjustable frequency band has separate controls for the center-point in the stereo field it works from, the amount of reduction of center content, overall gain and left and right phase.

Where it really shines:

• Adding subtle width to the high end of a mix
• Widening and brightening backing vocals to be more around the rest of the tune than in it
• Enhancing the ambience provided by reverbs
• Making panned, doubled guitar tracks simply insanely wide
• Correcting and enhancing the stereo spread from drum overheads to match the pan-position of spot mics
